Alligator leather's texture offers a versatility that calfskin, with its often too-fine and clean feel, can't match. It effortlessly bridges formal and casual styles. In homage to the vintage slide buckles popular from the 1920s to 1950s, I exclusively use 1-inch widths. These buckles provide an advantage over traditional hole-punched belts by allowing for precise adjustments.
The Marigold alligator belt is crafted from nubuck leather, which is achieved through a sanding process that gives it a soft, suede-like texture. The color is a vibrant yet understated take on marigold flowers—bright enough to stand out, but never overpowering—bringing a light and refined feel to the overall look.
To complement this, we’ve chosen a vertical vintage slide buckle, adding an unexpected and distinctive twist to the classic silhouette.
